"Go, therefore, and make disciples of[ all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19 & 20. (HCSB)
Adamsville First Baptist Church participates in missions in several different ways over the course of each year.
We participate as a church in mission offerings and projects:
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.
Golden State Offering for Tennessee Missions.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.
World Hunger Rice Bowls.
Operation Christmas Child.
Associational Mission Fairs and Outreach such as the Celebrate Jesus Crusade, in April, 2008.
Vacation Bible School.
Visitation & Outreach Programs.
Baptist Men & WOM Projects.
Our youth group attends M- Fuge each year. M-Fuge combines elements of small-group Bible study and worship with hands-on
mission experiences in cities across the United States. Students and adults have
the opportunity to choose between various ministry tracks including Creative,
Social, Children's, Games and Recreation, and Painting, Construction and
Yard work. In the evening, students enjoy quality worship, camp-wide
fellowship activities and church group devotions.
Several of our teens have participated the M-Fuge Student Leader Apprentice (SLA) Program, which is a two-week experience. The first week is
spent in small-group Bible study and leadership training. The second week is
spent ministering alongside an M-Fuge staffer as an apprentice. This training teaches them to be leaders in future children's camps and other summer camps.
This summer, 2008, 34 church members participated in a week long trip to Harrogate, TN, to assist Indian Creek Baptist Church in building a new church. We worked on drywall and roofing. Previous construction trips include trips to Mexico; Mason City, Iowa: Northwood, Iowa; Johnson City, TN; and Gulfport, Mississippi. We also have members who serve with the Shiloh Baptist Association Disaster Relief Team.
Individual church members have participated in a variety of mission trips and activities from Backyard Bible Clubs right here in McNairy County to trips to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Peru, and Associational Mission Trips to Iowa.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the
earth.” Acts 1: 8. (HCSB)
